Unable to Update

When I attempt to update running Calculate Desktop Xfce, the following appears at the end of the list of available files:

!!! The following binary packages have been ignored due to changed dependencies:

x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.99.917_p20161118::calculate
media-libs/mesa-12.0.1::gentoo
x11-apps/xwd-1.0.6::gentoo
x11-misc/light-locker-1.4.0-r2::calculate
x11-libs/fltk-1.3.3-r3::gentoo
sys-libs/glibc-2.23-r3::gentoo
www-client/otter-0.9.11::gentoo
x11-misc/x11vnc-0.9.14_p20161013::gentoo

NOTE: The --binpkg-changed-deps=n option will prevent emerge
from ignoring these binary packages if possible.
Using --binpkg-changed-deps=y will silence this warning.

The following mask changes are necessary to proceed:
(see “package.unmask” in the portage(5) man page for more details)
# required by dev-lang/ruby-2.1.9::gentoo[ncurses]
# required by dev-qt/qtwebkit-5.7.1::gentoo
# required by www-client/otter-0.9.11::gentoo
# required by `selected

required by `world (argument)

# /var/lib/layman/calculate/profiles/base/package.mask/default:
=sys-libs/ncurses-6.0-r1

NOTE: The --autounmask-keep-masks option will prevent emerge
from creating package.unmask or **** keyword changes.

Emerge failed
Update failed

I’m not sure sure how to correct this and would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

What does command display:

emerge --info | grep DEFAULT_OPTS

Thanks for your response:

Приложите файл /var/log/calculate/lastcommand.log после выполнения <>

You are recommending that I Attach the file /var/log/calculate/lastcommand.log after the cl-update?
(In other words, that I post it here).

Sorry, I forgot translate the message. Yes, I need full output of command, which executed by <> (/var/log/calculate/lastcommand.log).

Im having the same problem, with Cinnamon on my laptop and XFce on my desktop, here is the log file attached for my XFce desktop update error.

Thanks

lastcommand.log (6.26 KB)

The problem may be related to the overlay rindeal. Try to unmask =dev-python/cryptography-1.3 and use dhcp for net-dns/dnsmasq-2.76 dhcp

thank you so much, removing the rindeal overlay solved my problem now updating without errors. i only use the overlay to get Tixati its a p2p torrent client.

thanks again.

hi, if you want you can add my overlay --> https://github.com/mrbitt/mrbit-overlay/blob/master/net-p2p/tixati/tixati-2.53.ebuild
:slight_smile:

Since I have other operating systems installed, my data is always kept in separate partitions and I’ve had work to do, I had no chance to get back to fixing Calculate so it could update until today.

First I tried booting into the oldest version (three are installed), which on attempting to boot showed no display (apparently a driver problem).

The second had been updated before failing to do so. Today for example, the following error message appeared (it’s a lot):

Although I saved that, I did some other things before noticing that I needed to send the lastcommand.log file.

So I tried updating again and this time the update is proceeding and is still in progress, with 213 new programs to be added.

And it finished OK.

That leaves the laptop to fix. Two out of three computers are now working fine.

I did try unmasking what was suggested above.

So thanks for the tips and attention.

Two of three computers running Calculate Desktop Xfce are updating without serious problems.

That leaves only the Lenovo Thinkpad W520 which is still seriously behind the current version.

This is what I get when I attempt to update:
