This is ridiculous, I can’t install anything that I need!! It tells me “all ebuilds that could satisfy have been masked” and “use flag configuration mismatch” ??
I have nothing masked

what am I supposed to do I don’t understand… I thought this would be a really good shortcut to Gentoo Linux but I can’t even get anything to install, be it PyQt4 or updating portage. WHY?
I have to get my computer working for before Tuesday.
I’m running on an i686 computer.

I’ve added PyQt4 to the unmask file and yet still it makes no difference . this is very inconvenient. the opposite of what calculate linux should be.

I’m sorry to come off as such a dick, portage is really frustrating… I really like a lot of the features of calculate linux, but I’ve been trying endlessly to figure out why it would do this & I haven’t been able to figure it out. All I need is pyqt4 and a few game emulators, LXDE (I downloaded XFCE & plan to install LXDE)… Bluetooth & sound are already installed so it would seem like everything is good-to-go. I decided I’d try to reinstall it so I can try again with a fresh start, that was before I saw your message. Thanks for replying, I honestly didn’t think anyone would.

edit: I forgot to mention libusb, libusb-compat, bluez deprecated, libjack, and some other basic stuff that I’m also going to have to install, but I think it should be simple as long as I don’t get these masked errors…

Okay so I’ve just ran cl-update, can I do emerge --oneshot portage now? Or do/should I have to do something else first?

edit: 358 updates… yikes.

Also, am I supposed to set USE & driver flags in portage’s make.conf ???

How can I pick up from where the updater left off?

It just randomly zoomed in on me & I was unable to zoom-out. How can I disable zoom? I really hope I won’t have this “zoom” feature in LXDE, very annoying.

mgba is masked, dang. I’m hopefully gonnna be able to compile it from the source… I hope I can unmask it.
Why are both qtstyleplugins masked I added two different overlays just to get them & for some reason they’re both masked… WHY???
