We're happy to announce that, since Stage 20120629, Calculate Linux 12 has entered its final phase: the beta testing version is now available!

Main Features¶

• A major change: Calculate Utilities 3 are now used to install and set up your system. What does it mean, exactly?
  • Network client-server solutions via SOAP/WSDL are supported.
    
    
  • Both console and graphical interfaces are implemented.
    
    
  • Multiple installation is supported: that is, you can install CL on several storage media at once, locally as well as remotely.
    
    
  • System settings can now be configured either from the command line with cl-setup-boot, cl-setup-locale, cl-setup-network, cl-setup-system, cl-setup-video, or in a graphical environment.
    
    
• Calculate Linux Desktop XFCE has a better appearance:
  • The new Adwaita theme.
  • A bigger menu.
  • Somewhat better response.
  • Geeque comes by default as the image viewer.

• The new start page: http://start.calculate-linux.org/

• Gimp was updated to v2.8 and has now a one-window interface by default.
